1. RESEARCH FELLOW - ISLAMIC BANKING, FINANCE AND HALAL STUDIES

The International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia invites interested and qualified applicants for the post of Research Fellow at the Institute. As an independent, non-profit centre of excellence for Islamic research of contemporary relevance, Research Fellow plays an important role for the Institute by participating in its research agenda and planning.  He / She will be actively involved in projects that promote high quality thought and discourse for the benefit of Muslim societies and governments.

Requirements and Specifications

  1. IAIS Malaysia only accepts applicant with PhD and/or master’s degree in Islamic banking and finance and/or Halal studies.
  2. Excellent command of English, both written and oral. Knowledge in Arabic and Malay is desirable. Locals are encouraged to apply.
  3. Experience (> 5 years) in academic publishing and editing is a favourable advantage.
  4. Solid background in Shariah and familiarity with its literature, concepts, and terminologies.
  5. Proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office suite – Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
  6. Strong in teamwork, excellent time-management, integrity, and inter-personal communication.
  7. Monthly remuneration starts with RM6,500 for Master’s degree holder and RM7,000 for PhD depending on relevant experience and qualification.
