The International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia invites interested and qualified applicants for an Internship Programme. Successful applicants will be actively involved in guided research and publication on contemporary issues of the Muslim world, and he or she will be attached to the Research and Publication Division and cooperate with other units of the Institute.
Requirements and Specifications
a) Preferably a Postgraduate student (PhD or Master’s degree) from public or private institution of higher education; or a final year Bachelors’ degree student from public or private institution of higher education in any of these disciplines/majors:
i) Middle East and North African (MENA) studies;
ii) Southeast Asian/ASEAN studies;
iii) Malaysia-China relations;
iv) International Relations and Diplomacy studies;
v) Economic Diplomacy and Development studies;
vi) Strategic, Security and Defence studies;
vii) European/American/the West/Global North studies;
viii) South Asian/Indian sub-continent studies.
b) Good command of English, both written and oral.
c) Excellent academic results (CGPA 3.00 and above).
d) High level of integrity and excellent time-management.
e) Excellent team player and possess professional demeanour in dealing with internal or external parties.
f) Knowledge and skills in writing and publishing in areas mentioned above is an added advantage.
Internship allowance is available subject to approved financial allocation by the management.
