Norliza Saleh

Norliza Saleh currently holds the position of Manager of the Research and Publication Division at the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia. Prior to this role, she served as the Head of Publications Unit from 2009 to 2023. Her journey in academic publishing commenced as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation (ISTAC, IIUM) from 2005 to 2009, specializing in managing historical manuscripts, academic books, magazines, and journals.

 Her expertise in all aspects of publishing, from the initial idea to the final dissemination, highlights her strengths. She seamlessly integrates academic rigor with practical publishing know-how, facilitating the impactful dissemination of scholarly works.

Norliza obtained her bachelor’s degree in History and Civilisation from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) in 2005 and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies. Driven by a fervent passion for Muslim historiography, Muslim political history, and the evolution of Islamic thought worldwide, she is dedicated to advancing knowledge and fostering discourse in these crucial domains.

Norliza’s latest publication is an article featured in a book published by Springer in 2024 titled "Matrilinineal, Matriacal, and Matrifocal Islam: The World of Women-Centric Islam". This contribution delves into the intricate dynamics of women-centric Islam, exploring themes of matriliny, matriarchy, and matrifocality within Islamic contexts.
