Muhamad Sayuti

Muhamad Sayuti Mansor is currently a research fellow at IAIS. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Sharia (Fiqh and Usul) from the University of Malaya, and Master of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Heritage (Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh) from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Prior to joining IAIS, he served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, working on a research grant on counter-extremism in Islam.

Since joining IAIS in 2019, he has been conducting research with a special interest in Islamic political thought (siyāsah shar‘iyyah), the implementation of sharia (taṭbīq al-sharī‘ah), enforcement of morality in Islam, as well as Islamic international relations (al-‘Alāqāt al-Duwaliyyah). Additionally, he is a regular columnist in newspapers such as New Straits Times, Berita Harian, and BebasNews, contributing op-eds on current issues related to global Muslim affairs.
