Public Lecture: "Half a century of the OIC: Reflecting on the Hopes & Despairs"
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has been in existence for over 50 years and has played a critical role in shaping the political, economic, and social landscape of the Muslim world. As the OIC celebrates its half-century anniversary, it is important to reflect on the hopes and despairs that have marked its history.
To help shed light on these issues, the organizers are pleased to announce a public lecture entitled "Half a Century of the OIC: Reflecting on the Hopes and Despairs," featuring Professor Dr. Abdullahil Ahsan as the guest speaker. Prof. Dr. Ahsan is a renowned expert in Islamic political thought and international relations, having served as a professor of Comparative Civilization at Istanbul Sehir University.
During the lecture, Prof. Ahsan will draw on his extensive knowledge and experience to explore the successes and challenges of the OIC over the past 50 years. He will delve into the organization's founding principles, its evolution over time, and its current challenges and opportunities. Moreover, he will analyze the OIC's role in promoting peace and stability in the Muslim world and beyond, as well as its relationship with the broader international community.
The lecture will be of interest to policymakers, academics, and members of the public who are interested in the OIC, the Muslim world, and global politics more broadly. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with one of the leading experts in the field and to gain a deeper understanding of the hopes and despairs that have marked the OIC's history. This event promises to be an enlightening and thought-provoking discussion of one of the most significant international organizations of our time.
