The Persian language is often seen as a cradle of ancient civilisation and known as one of the artistic languages which embrace a wide range of content. By learning it, one can understand the divergent characteristics of being arbitrary, productive, creative, systematic, vocalic, social, non-instinctive, and conventional. The Persian language also features a unique collective wisdom with civilising effects on individuals and societies, particularly in developing new ways to perceive and think about the world.

Known to be one of the oldest countries in the world, Persia was home to one of the earliest cultures and societies to experiment with artmaking. Persian arts have a rich history, as the era has gone through many periods of growth and change. Persian art and architecture have continued to maintain a powerful influence on the present-day world of art. Most traditional Persian artworks were made to celebrate customs of the past through using elements that have worked well and improving upon them.

The objectives of this seminar are to highlight the importance of the Persian language, its literature, and artworks in the course of Islamic intellectual history, as well as to observe the people’s interest in registering for the upcoming Persian language course that will be conducted by IAIS Malaysia and Saadi Foundation.

This will be a one-day introductory Persian language seminar that attempts to ascertain people’s interest in the language. The lessons will focus on conversations using simple structures and vocabularies about the participants’ lives, interests, families, studies etc. The brief lesson will include the following:

  • Alphabet
  • Phrases
  • Adjectives
  • Numbers
  • Nouns
  • Vocabularies
  • Singular/Plural
  • Practice
  • Persian writing will also be introduced and taught at the seminar.
